Studies have shown that Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) can lead to chronic illness and disease.
Here are some examples of ACEs;
The theory is that extreme emotional trauma is an impetus for a number of physical changes within the body that can lead to chronic illness and disease.
Below are some examples of chronic illness and disease linked to ACEs;
In 1998, a Kaiser study examined, “The number of categories of adverse childhood exposures showed a graded relationship to the presence of adult diseases including ischemic heart disease, cancer, chronic lung disease, skeletal fractures, and liver disease.”
A study published in Nature details, “Childhood adversity may potentially have detrimental effects on long-term health… The cumulative burden of adverse experiences has been shown to cause negative effects on physiological, cognitive, behavioral, and psychological functions.” In addition, “An increasing number of ACEs has also been found to be related to autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, frequent headaches, primary insomnia, and several metabolic risk biomarkers (obesity, high blood pressure, high total cholesterol, low high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, high glycated hemoglobin).”
Studies Have Shown That Hypnotherapy Is Effective At Alleviating Symptoms of Trauma-
How Does Hypnotherapy Help?
Studies have shown that Hypnotherapy can help by regressing a person to positive resources to look at the trauma from a different perspective. Then the trauma is reframed and the emotional charge is released.
According to a study published in 1990, “Hypnosis provides controlled access to memories that may otherwise be kept out of consciousness. New uses of hypnosis in the psychotherapy of PTSD victims involve coupling access to the dissociated traumatic memories with positive restructuring of those memories. Hypnosis can be used to help patients face and bear a traumatic experience by embedding it in a new context, acknowledging helplessness during the event, and yet linking that experience with remoralizing memories such as efforts at self-protection, shared affection with friends who were killed, or the ability to control the environment at other times. In this way, hypnosis can be used to provide controlled access to memories that are then placed into a broader perspective.”
Toxic childhood trauma creates negative trapped emotions that studies have shown wreak havoc in your body leading to chronic illness and disease. Resolution of trauma coupled with forgiveness helps you break free of the perpetrators, so the past can’t hurt you anymore. It is the final component to trauma recovery. The forgiveness is not meant to benefit the person you are forgiving. You are releasing out of date emotions to clear up space for the wonderful life that you deserve.
Forgiveness helps YOU become more powerful.
